PTFE

PTFE is a perfluorinated semi-crystalline polymer that, thanks to its molecular structure, shows a unique and differentiating set of properties. These comprise

  • very strong inertness to almost all Chemicals including solvents,
  • high temperature resistance, 
  • high electrical insulation properties,
  • very low coefficient of friction, and
  • low surface tension.

PTFE finds use in an extremely wide range of applications in the chemical industry, automotive, aerospace, building, as well as general industries. As an additive it is contained in many plastics, rubbers, greases, inks and coatings etc.

POLIS post-processes and sells the entire range of grades based on PTFE from all major resin producers.

About POLIS

POLIS was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Offlaga, Brescia, Italy. The company is a leading supplier of PTFE compounds and micro-powders, with 3 production facilities in Italy and China. Warehouses and commercial subsidiaries exist in all major regions in the world. Annual capacity amounts to 5.000+ MT.

Products

We make all standard PTFE grades. Furthermore, we specialize in developing and manufacturing tailored products. Main inorganic fillers/ additives are carbon, bronze, graphite, glass, molybdenum disulfide, and mica. As organic materials Polyimides (PI), aromatic Polyesters, Polyamideimide (PAI), Polyphenylensulfide (PPS), and Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) are incorporated in the various compounds. Grades for use in food, water, and more electrical applications are available; the respective certifications have been granted. In total, we offer more than 600 grades, including low volume products. Reprocessed PTFE, too, is part of the portfolio.
